About a year ago, I had an idea to start a personal blog. I thought that being a little girl from Neteshyn who moved to Switzerland, had a wonderful son and a great husband, I had something to say, to share my experience, to motivate or inspire others. So I started looking for my “theme”: sustainable lifestyle, minimalist mom, zero waste products, etc.
But one night, everything changed. #russiaisaterroriststate invaded Ukraine, and the whole world collapsed. I was confused, scared, and lost. I couldn’t believe that such a horrible thing could happen. And I was in Switzerland, one of the most secure countries in the world. I couldn’t even imagine what people in Ukraine were feeling. I was filled with hate and anger on one side and hope and prayers on the other.
It took me a long time to get myself together, to find my way to do good. The first thing I did was to start a “tandem” with our family and a woman from Ukraine who had moved to Zurich. Meeting her helped me calm down a bit.
The second thing I’m doing now is supporting my family and parents who are still in Ukraine. I cannot do good for everybody, but I do donate some money to trustworthy foundations. It is called “converting rage into a weapon.”
Family is my biggest value. Maybe my blog is not enough, but it motivates my mom to follow her hobby and make those bags, like many Ukrainians do. They all do the impossible! They are unbreakable. And I’m excited about my 31 followers and happy to share our blog with others.
